The Glenbrook Inn, Dobbins Road, Barry, Wales 01446 747808 has a great selection of Beers & Lagers and outstanding food for quality and value. The televised sport is popular and the gardens and external seating area are the best I've seen. A real Pub!

Isleworth crawl covering the New and Old sections of this unsung district of West-South-West London. Start - Isleworth Station BR - 10 mins walk away (back under the arches and turn right past the Bridge Inn (its OK) is the Red Lion, a real-ale,live-gig kind of local in a terraced street, Linkfield Road. Plenty of beer to choose from so I won't bore you with the list. Dive in! Then turn left out of the pub and head down towards Twickenham Road. Turn right and walk towards the almshouses and memorial (South Street) and turn left at the George pub. Keep going and you will see the Castle on the right (not been in there yet) and the Swan (which I have). Take your pick - the Swan is OK and does decent Fullers. After 1 in there turn right down the cobbled road (Swan Street) to the Town Wharf. This is a Sam Smiths so is a bit cheaper than most. Try the Imperial Stout or the OBB. Then try some more. Up the road in Church Street is the London Apprentice. Its just OK when it should be great so stop if you must. But think of all those great ales at The Red Lion you can have on your way back to the station!

Hello from Canada: In researching my family tree I have found that I have strong ties to the Isle of Wight and Uxbridge, Hillindon, Middlsex England! I can't afford to travel but you could have your own genealogy - who am i related to - pub crawl! You might advertise as I have found in my own Handicott/Hendicott family tree that many an army and navy man, met their wives in such a pub! To see them still existing today is amazing to me! Cheers Sherri

www.pubcrawlBA.com What's a pub crawl? A pub crawl, also commonly referred to as a bar tour or bar-hopping, is the act of one or more people drinking in a number of pubs in a single night, normally walking between them. In a nut shell, the Buenos Aires Pub Crawl is a great way to meet people and fellow travelers from all over the world while experiencing some of the hottest venues that the city's nightlife has to offer! How much does it cost and what do you get? - Free Empanada's and Pizza. Something light to start off the night! (During registration only) - Open Bar. Free-flowing beer and wine throughout registration! - Complimentary Shots. Receive a free shooter upon arriving at every bar! (Includes 3-4 bars) - Drink Discounts in Every Joint. Why pay full price? Receive special drink prices exclusive to Pub Crawlers only! - Free Club Admission. End your evening right by jumping the line at a club! Guys get all of this and more for just 60 pesos! That boils down to about US$20, €16, or £10. Ladies on the other hand only have to pay 50 pesos. In other words, every night is ladies night! Lastly, the Buenos Aires Pub Crawl is free for those who choose to celebrate their birthday with us

Here is my favourite Kenilworth pub crawl. We do this about once every 2 months. Pub 1, The Wyandotte, The X17 from Leamington or Coventry drops you right out side. It is only a short walk from the 12 stop as well The Wyandotte Inn is a very good and friendly local. It was serving Buttonwood Bitter, Jennings Cockerhoop and Youngs special on draft. I had the cockerhoop on this visit which was superb, had a nice head and was crystal clear. The barman told me that he had Lancaster bomber on next. Looking around this place the are a number of sports memorabilia pictures of not only England football and cricket but also Coventry city. The is a lovely model of the pub above the main entrance. I nice touch was a local even bought a bowl of crisps from the bar to offer me some. The were a couple playing darts and the cricket was on the TV. from the wyandotte walk left towards the cottage, Pub 2, The Cottage, The Cottage is an interesting place, Yes the inside looks dated but very clean and looked after, On my visit it had Wickwar 'Long John Silver', Skinners 'Cornish Knocker', Ansells 'Mild' and GK 'IPA' on draft. The were 6 differant single malts also. A good looking menu. I have eaten here and the food is good value. It also sells proper 'Pork Scratchings'. from the cottage turn right out of the front door and continue down the road and around the corner to 'The Engine', Pub 3, The Engine, The Engine is a nice place, Old fashioned local. It has a central bar with plenty of seating all the way round. Watch your head when walking through the door as the door frame is quite low. Beers were not the most exciting on my visit, Wickwar 'Long John Silver', Hook Norton 'Old Hooky', Spitfire and Brew XI. The was also a Chalk Board that stated that Summer Lightning and Batemans XXXB to be on soon. from the Cottage walk out of the front door turn left, you will see a walk way with houses on the left and allotments to the right walk down to the end then turn right, follow this road up to the main road where you turn left and you will find the 'Royal Oak' Pub 4, The Royal Oak, Very much a local pub. On my visit they were serving, Ansells 'Mild' and 'Bitter', Bombardier and Pedigree. Sports memorabilia of golf and West Bromwich Albion. The is dates and pool. Large Garden and right buy the bus stop 12 and U2. Has in the past been in the good beer guide from the oak turn left after 50 yards you will find the Cross, Pub 5, The (Coventry) Cross, This place is more a posh/stylish gastropub. The bber is good. Hook Norton Bitter and Timothy Taylor Landlord on draft on my visit. ( not a pumpclip type of place). Turn left on exit and walk down to the cross roads. cross over to the 'Famous Virgins and Castle'. Pub 6, The 'Famous Virgins and Castle'. This is a GBG regular, an Everards pub. It was serving Everards Tiger, Beacon, Sunchaser, Original and Chocolate Ale (mild) as well as London Pride. This place has history as it started life as 2 pubs . The menu was english and japanese. 12 single malts are offered and the is a lovely garden to the rear. over the road now to the Clarendon House, Pub 7, Clarendon House, Looks OK from the outside. Shame it is a Greene King pub. The range is poor Abbots, Old Speckled hen and IPA. The only good thing was the Hardys and Hanson 'Olde Trip'. (shame its not brewed in Nottingham these days!. Don't rate it. If you want foods you have the 'Vs' across the road, for somewhere to stay you have the 'Old Bakery' and if you want a proper beer the 'Vs' is good, The 'Royal Oak' is very good but the 'Old Bakery' is fantastic for Ales and Whiskey. turn right to the 'Old Bakery'. This is in my opinion Kenilworths best all round pub. On the day of visit they were serving, Hook Norton 'Hooky Bitter', Holdens 'Mild' although this changed to Church End 'R Reg', St Austell 'Tribute' and Purity 'UBU'. They have coming in the next few weeks beers from Wye Valley (3), Scattor Rock (2), Cottage, Church End, Wentworth to name but 5. The joy of a free house meaning that if they can source a beer they will get it and the Landlords not failed yet! 8 wonderful single malt whiskeys and the best wine selection of any place in Kenilworth. Every monday night is fish a chip night and the is also talk of a pie night once a month. If at the end of the day you don't want to go home then they even have a hotel. This is 8 pubs. On the day I went the beers were, Buttonwood Bitter, Jennings Cockerhoop, Youngs special, Wickwar 'Long John Silver', x2 Skinners 'Cornish Knocker', Ansells 'Mild', x2 Green King 'IPA', x2 Hook Norton 'Old Hooky', Spitfire, Brew XI, Ansells 'Bitter', Bombardier, Pedigree, Hook Norton Bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Everards Tiger, " Beacon, " Sunchaser, " Original, " Chocolate Ale (mild), London Pride, Abbots Ale, Old Speckled Hen, Hardys and Hanson 'Olde Trip'. Holdens 'Mild', Church End 'R Reg', St Austell 'Tribute' and Purity 'UBU' thats 27 differant beers and although not every one is to everyones taste I think we will all agree that its a good selection. Happy drinking.

A good ten pint pub crawl for visitors to LEEDS CITY CENTRE, ideal for a group of boys and girls with mixed tastes in what makes a pub good. Get a train to Leeds City Station or just meet up there. 1)Scarborough Hotel, for a pint of real ale just across the road from the station. 2)Mr Foleys, walk straight up Park Row and turn left once on the Headrow avoiding the sports bar for a pint of Leeds brewery ale. 3)The Victoria Hotel, behind the town hall. Barnsley bitter/Tetly mild. Nice. 4)The Dry dock, bit of a novelty with it being a barge but does a decent stout or cider. Head up to the University. 4)The Wrens, down toward morrisons then left onto merrion way. Good ale. 5)The North bar, just past the grand theatre. Blink and you'll miss it. Great slection of beers. 6)The Angel. Down onto Briggate's main drag and the allyway is on your right,in the Angel yard. Good cheap sam smiths pub. 7)Whitelocks, about three allyways down the hill. An old pub famous for good beer and roast beef sandwqiches. 8)The Adelphi, straight down the hill and over the Aire bridge. Good beer and music. 9)The Grove. Head towards the biggest building in Leeds called bridgewater place. The Grove is a hidden gem in its shadow. Real ale all the way. 10)Wetherspoons in the train station. Cheap beer with a good selection. Depending on how drunk, how much money you you have left, can stay here until the last train arrives. Or start the trip here and end at the Scarborough Hotel. Up to you. Enjoy.

The Random Pub Crawl The Plan The plan is to create several zones, each of which contain 4 pubs. A draw will be held to decide which pub(s) in a zone will be visited. A secondary draw will decide how many beverages (1 - 3) will be consumed inside each pub. The list below highlights an example set up in Reading Town Centre, but this can be altered for any other town / city / village / etc. The Zones / Pubs Zone 1: Whitley 1. The Hop Leaf 2. The Turks Head 3. The Red Lion 4. The Red Cow Zone 2: The Oracle 1. The Slug and Lettuce 2. Bar 38 3. Bar Med 4. Old Orleans Zone 3a: Kings Road 1. The Back of Beyond 2. The Outlook (formerly the Hogs Head) 3.Bar Ha Ha 4. The Hob Goblin Zone 3b: Broad Street 1. Purple Turtle 2. The Brewery Tap 3. The Sun Inn 4. Pavlov's Dog Zone 4: Friar Street 1. The 3 B's 2. The Monks Retreat 3. The Bugle 4. The Hope Tap Zone 5: The Train Station 1. The Three Guineas 2. The Jolly Porter 3. The Corn Stores 4. The Blagrave Arms The Rules (Softcore) To make the draw's easier, each pub draw will contain the numbers 1 to 4 with a number representing each pub, so are re-usable for the next draw... Zone 3 offers the choice of either Kings Road, Broad Street or both - the actual choice will be determined on the night based on rate of travel, drunkenness, etc. You may only leave a zone when the following two conditions are met: 1. A minimum of 3 beverages has been consumed, and 2. The drawn allocation of drinks has been consumed. This means that in any zone, the maximum amount of beverages that can be consumed is 5 drinks. Each zone must be visited in sequence, so it is usually considered a good idea to have the last zone at a place most convenient for everyone. If a drinks draw is made for less than 3 drinks then, once the selected amount of drinks has been consumed, a new draw is made for another pub within the zone. The pub you are in is not removed from the draw. The Rules (Hardcore) The hardcore rules are much like the softcore rules, with the following additions: 1. The term Beverages refers to alcoholic drinks of a size no less than one (1) pint. 2. Both zones 3a and 3b must be included 3. A time limit of 15 minutes per drink is set. The clock starts once the round has been purchased and everyone has their drinks. The Rules (Extended) Instead of travelling each zone sequentially, the zones will be laid out over a map in an approximate grid. Drinkers can chose which zone to visit next, but can only travel to an adjacent zone. This version allows for more zones, as not all the zones have to be visited.

A pub crawl for those who don't mind a bit of walking in between their pints. Ideal for those living in the Heworth suburb of York, the full route can be seen by clicking this link : http://www.beerintheevening.com/crawls/crawl_details.shtml?4871 It takes in the "quieter" side of York, and features pubs which should be popular with all tastes, especially real ale drinkers. Other pubs may be added in Goodramgate itself, but allow plenty of time to finish off by the river at the Kings Arms if it's a warm, sunny day.
