Not overly impressed with the broadside or the spitfire last time i was here. Turn the jukebox off or turn it up so that you can hear it. Why the intterogation style lighting?

This is one I love to visit while in town for the beer festival, and never disappoints. It has character and is a friendly place to visit too.

The best pint of draught bass in Coventry - shame about the jukebox squeaking in the background

Usually has an interesting guest ale. Unfortunately the hobgoblin and Tim Taylor landlord have been declining in quality for some time now. Occasionally your senses are assaulted by deafening thrash metal played by the bar staff. The place could do with a seriously good clean as well. It wouldn't take too much effort to get this pub back to the high standard that it used to maintain.

I enjoyed my visit to this intersting pub while attending the recent beer festival. I look for unusual guest beers, and love the intersting rooms in this pub.

Great friendly lively pub. The night I was there I saw a superb band with the best accordionist ever plus violin etc - they were called something like Dicey Reilly. Get them back!!!!

Without doubt the BEST without doubt the BEST pub to go to if you don't want 80's 90's era noise,or youthfull exuberance.
Staff and customers were friendly, and after some of our sing songs the next round was late!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem with Browns is their door policy, you have probably the same chance of being stopped from entering this "bar" regardless of whether you are taking your parents for a meal/drink OR if you are a drunk lout with vomit all over your clothes.

I've actually been allowed in the same number of times I've not been allowed in ...It's really NOT worth the hassle of going to BROWNS as there are so many nice pubs/bars/cafes in the area that will gladly take your custom.

I actually think the doorstaff are doing you a favour when they stop you from coming in. The sooner this establishment either changes management or goes out of business the better for all concerned.

right wear to start with this horrible place it was my first ever time to cov came down to my girlfreind on a very hot august day been in cov for only an hour and decied to go to browns as soon as i orded are drinks a fat freak dressed in an head scarf came from knowere demanding that i leave or she would call the police i was shocked i can look back now and laugh but i was told by locals nobody like her so her loss of custom x

I went in for a qucik pint with my mate about two years ago, got all the way to the bar and then this imbecile of a bouncer said "you won't get served". He he. "Why not?", "Don't give reasons.". I reckon I had been in there about 100 times at that point but I was getting seriously bored of it, so he did us a favour.
It really is boring. I only ever went in there for one on the way to somewhere decent like the cross.
And as for the bizarre collection of people who own/run the place (you know who you are!)....
Anyway, go somewhere else in town. Mbargo is decent.

visited on Saturday after a long interval . A good choice of 6 real ales which were in good condition and resonably priced .Live music added to it being a great night out.

Don't get here as often as i'd like but always have a cracking time when i do. Plenty of different ales to try at very reasonable prices. Friendly crowd and a live band on a Saturday evening.

Still Drinking Here,Blacksheep bitter is the regular with six ever changing beers to choose from. Now the smoking ban is in, the garden nearly all taken over for smokers, hope it changes if we get any summer this year!Quality of beer still good, pipes cleaned befor every beer change.Ian the manager DOES drink the beer and can be a little moody but I have always found him friendly.Still allows food to be drought in from the many eating outlets locally.Live music every saturday and sometimes on friday. May not be the most palacious pub, but always a friendly welcome I found.
