| I hate the bar you have to have great balance about 10 steps down to bar, if you order coffee you are in trouble get a tray best bet sit below steps no problem, old men and people who are having the day out from the mrs, no carpark people smoke inside this pub or before they are outside, skanks!!! | Went in this pub back in October, worst spoons pub I have ever been in. the beer was awful but the attitude of staff absolutely stunk. I had an all day breakfast in there.i only asked if i could have an extra mushroom instead of tomato.the response i got was "no the cook is not in the best of moods". The food was overcooked and naff standard .Sadlers ale was also crap, worst ale I had drank in 2009. i will take some persuasion to return to the same place. markredfox73 - 21 Jun 2010 22:50 |
| Very imposing building, but not one of 'spoons best theatre conversions as the area nearest the door is very dark, and then you get a rather sudden drop down at the bar end. Otherwise it is much the usual offering, with cheap food and a reasonable selection of real ale with five guest beers in addition to the usual suspects from the eight handpumps. My pint of Elgoods Black Dog was fine and didn't cost any more than Ruddles with the 'curry night' deal so I was happy enough. rpadam - 5 Jun 2010 22:52 |
| We have been here before but left due to lack of ale choice, but managed to find 5 guests on this time as the Walsall beer festival was on round the corner, so plenty of real ale drinkers were in town. I enjoyed Orkney Red Macgregor and Titanic Iron Curtain. What really impressed me here was that the Lees beer I wanted went off, and they whipped the pumpclip straight off. The beer on the next pump as available soon was put on. They were clearing the done line and getting the next beer ready so they could keep 5 guests on. What a refreshing change. gillhalfpint - 29 Mar 2010 18:08 |
