| Don't know why this place has never done well as it should have potential. Went upstairs to play pool and the upstairs bar was totally deserted. When first opened, both floors were often busy, but that very soon faded. Used to be a job centre. As I now work in a job centre, shame it still isn't. | Used to have a brilliant range of ale but went in there one evening this week and they had ten hand pumps but only one beer (GK IPA). GK taking this one over has meant it has taken a serious turn for the worse. Rod_Hariga - 3 Jul 2008 21:27 |

| Sorry Love_good-ale, this pub is nothing to do with Wetherspoons, they were never involved with Hogsheads. I think you're confusing their Lloyds No.1 pubs with this one which is presumably named after its address. TiaMariaJim - 15 May 2008 20:43 |
| Mmm!, I have not looked in here since the Hogshead days. In those days there was quite a good choice of different real ales. Popped in today and only GK IPA and Speckled Hen available. I thought this place is now owned by Wetherspoons. Wetherspoons promotes being a free house and having a reasonable changing selection. I know Greene King punt out their ales cheap to free houses but this is the last thing you want to see in a non GK owned pub. Love_good_ale - 15 May 2008 20:12 |
