| Liverpool’s only Brew-Pub has Georgian origins although the main pub was built in 1850’s on site of old an port&wine house. The name comes from a Scandinavian fleet of the time importing sawn timber and the building looks like a ship with its own funnels on the roof! 7 hand pulls serving its own quality beers. A good old basic boozer, character, no frills, friendly staff and good grub – All Day Breakfast £5-95, Bangers+Mash/Steak+Ale pie £6-95. This ‘Classic’ should be preserved as it is! | Best Pub in Liverpool BAR NONE. Great Beer, Great Food, Great Staff. Carl the Manager was really helpful and went out of his way to make sure we were looked after. I had a pint of Garys Festival Special which im led to believe was a brew made by the managers brother, his pic is even on the clip. excellent pub with sperb beer, food & staff. | Stan Shaw should be knighted! I've never had a bad pint in The Baltic Fleet. I prefer the stout, porter and mild while my lad prefers the lighter ales, but whatever the beer, the genius of Stan shines through. The young bar staff are very friendly and helpful. Assistant manager Trevor Williams is a great bloke. As for the toilets, the management are installing new ones and even better news is the Wapping Brewery is due to increase its output. | This place is a gem..! It's always one of the first on our list for our regular Liverpool pub-crawl. Wapping beer is hard to beat, although it didn't suit one of our group, and the food is always well-cooked and very reasonably priced. (Mind you, any comparison with London prices will look good..!) Really nice people serving, one barmaid with multi-coloured hair certainly added something to the ambience..! Must try an evening visit sometime... sounds like it could be lively..! Great pub... should be preserved for the nation..! Now off to "The Cracke"... Glenco - 8 Sep 2008 10:55 |
