Went in here this evening after the match, for the first time. What a GEM of a pub! What a fool I've been - I wish I'd got off my backside and tried this pub before over the many years I've been watching football in this lovely old town. This will become a regular for us from now on. Friendly landlord and staff, friendly customers of all ages and fantastic real ale - what a selection! I recommend this place to anyone who likes real, unpretentious pubs in England. 10/10. beehave - 13 Dec 2008 21:16
Another great session last Friday night here. Locals Des and Graham provided for entertaining light hearted good old "pub" conversation, and the Stilton Porter was an exquisite contrast to the 2 other bitters. Quality Thai quisine and very friendly atmosphere, what more could you ask for? lad_newton - 8 Dec 2008 18:22
A real character unpretentious friendly pub with authentic Thai nosh ordered via a hatchway. Real ale is the theme here and it is always changing. In fact the landlord keeps a tally and has served over 2000 different ales here since 1996. Being picky I'd prefer an off-white "smokey pub" decor rather than the harsh bright white. Also the fruit machines use room for more tables. But a gem of a pub nonetheless. mim - 17 Sep 2008 09:38
They have an machine in there that you can play retro classic arcade games on. Prices are cheap, some good beers on tap but pretty boring pub HENDO - 15 Sep 2008 15:44
Excellent selection of beers and continental largers. Who gives a stuff about the decor or the lippy landlord. Fill yer boots - a drinker's pub where the beer comes first. Good condition, reasonable prices, food looked good. Go through the selection of draught beers - you won't notice the decorations. BananaSundae - 31 Aug 2008 22:42
