Can I just say that lbw is completely incorrect - there is no way the people in this pub would turn him away for being a tourist they just don't do that sort of thing - this is a very warm and welcoming pub!!!!

There was a pushed-in face dog that scowled at me the whole time and looked like it wanted to tear my face off! Everything was sticky and the glasses had mouth marks all over them. I got my second pint and was told that would be my last because I'm an emmert (tourist I was told later) and I wasn't welcome in there and if I didn't get out they would call the police or deal with it themselves. Some of them stood around me and hawked all over me at length. I was scared and I left my pint and went next door to wash my hands and forget it. I will never take mother to a place like that if they threaten her I might have to sort it out. No food was available.

As per previous reviews - a proper pub with a fire you could smelt steel on. Locals round the bar discussing the quality of the roast meats from different suppliers.

Comfortable and friendly atmosphere that seemed to blend visitors and locals in together - a classic boozer. Excellent - and the Doom Bar was in good nic.

We did walk past on the Sunday night and there was a lively crowd enjoying live music - karaoke possibly .............. didn't go in so not sure.

Our favourite Looe pub. love the beer, hate the dog and we tolerate the locals if they will tolerate us.

Classic Dirty Pub.

Wheezy old dog hoovering up crisps, mental locals, every nutter in the village popping in, demented parrot in a cage, bogs worse than Calcutta, roaring log fire that hasn't gone out for 10 months, darts league, sticky carpet and the friendliest staff you could hope for. Get in there. For Christ's sake don't eat anything but the Ale is fine. Stay away from the dog.

A proper old school pub. Enjoy it whilst it is still legal.
