...£16.99 for a steak!!!! ...£16.40 for 4 drinks and a bowl of nuts!!!! Get real please, this is supposed to be High Street pub not Gordon bloody Ramseys. Food is average, service too long as a shortage of staff and prices far too High. Rumour has it that Wetherspoons are taking over. .....cant wait! highstreetdrinker - 6 Jan 2009 11:37

Named after the nearby man made river..and therein lies its problem. Its false and not what it pretends to be. Ugly, long, overpriced bar. Only redeeming feature was the helpful polite barman. nickthefish - 1 Jan 2009 10:14
I came here for the first time last Saturday and loved it! Wasn't as busy as I thought it'd be but really glad I tried it out. Good food and nice surroundings. Staff were efficient and friendly. Definatley recommended. Kate_Sparrow - 20 Nov 2008 16:50
Much better as Cafe Society, this place is more of a starting point for the evening than an evening itself. Pumped about 500k into doing itself up a few years ago and its just constantly dead! Maybe its the size... My mate summed it up when he said it tries to hard and that its more a "pretty pub" than anything else. Good on a friday, saturday night - usually full of fanny - The majority of its paying customers come from the Insurance place across the road. whoagigi - 4 Oct 2008 14:25
