I go here occasionally at week-day lunch times, as I work nearby. Its nice, clean, basic pub with bar room, smaller dining room and snug. Small beer "garden" at the rear. You pass it as you travel out of sheffield on the A61(N) penistone road.
I like this pub. The food is always nice and fresh here, and reasonably priced. Always a good range of well-kept cask ales.
Some thing reliable in a world of so much crap.

We go in there each season when we're playing at Hillsborough (I won't mention the team!) I love the pub, a wide range of real ales and ciders. Good food, big portions! Well worth a visit.

We went here after the game at Hillsborough yesterday (CUFC). It must have been only about 10 minutes or so walk from the ground. About 10 or 11 hand pumped ales were available for our visit. The pub is owned by the Nottingham brewer - Castle Rock. The pub was friendly to away fans. One of the staff helped arrange us a cab back to the station. Although the cab arrived early he kindly agreed to wait until the time we ordered it for. This allowed us to finish the ales we had only recently ordered which were lovely. We tipped the cabbie for kindly waiting for us.

Called in following the Don Floods, and found it quiet so had a meal with my excellent beer. The hot chilli was certainly that, and I will put it down for a meal again. Brilliant.

Yet another great pub on the N. Sheffield crawl. Good food-good choice of beers-excellent for away fans as Hillsborough is only 10 min walk away
