I came here for a Sunday roast and ordering the food is a complete mission as half the staff don't speak english, let alone understand the menu, everything takes ages. The food and drink is quite pricey considering its a quiet pub, the roast beef when it arrived was the most repulsive meat I have ever seen, in fact you couldn't call it meat, we were all served with 3 peices of fat, hideous and certianly wouldn't go back. boyo79 - 12 Nov 2008 16:42
this pub has a lovely interior - there is even a stained glass window. there is a reasonable selection of beers. the staff are friendly. the pub quiz is FREE and you might even win some wine! julesbaby - 24 Jul 2007 11:56
Have visited this place a few times since it reopened. All-in-all have been reasonably impressed. Beer is kept well, if a little on the pricey side, and the couple of things I've order (snacks and sandwiches) have been pretty good - in fact the steak sandwich was great. I'd agree with the comment about the problem of a lack of atmosphere because its so large. However, its summer and its got a great beer garden so who cares. Sparky1 - 15 May 2007 17:06
been waiting a long time for this place to open and was very pleased with what has been done. for a large open space it is very cozy, if that makes any sense. lots of dark wood and light walls, low lighting and candles. drink prices are fairly standard for this area, good spirit range ( millers gin, a rare find ), they seemed to have stayed away from the normal pub brands and put a bit of thought into their collection. food was good ( the wife and i both had the burger , which was fresh and flavourful ). slightly dissapointed to be told by the manager that they won't be showing live football, but am assured that they will be showing the rugby. all in all a very pleasant place and looking forward to spending a long hot summer in the garden. fulhamcross - 6 Mar 2007 23:53
Service from Ryan at the bar was hopeless, he couldn't even muster a smile which destroyed my first high expectations of this long awaited pub. Ordered the chicken caesar with dressing on the side -it arrived dry, no dressing on the side, with white lettuce and anchovies 5 times the size of the tiny chicken pieces. No other ingredients. How delicious. The non-english speaking waiter made life difficult, the house white wasn't cold and I left feeling horribly disappointed. This place could be brilliant if the right staff were recruited and the food was of a much better standard. anonymous - 5 Mar 2007 11:31
