This is a great pub. The Copper Ale is particularly good. Located in Devon with comfortable, clean and well maintained rooms. it's a great place to spend the weekend. On the food front its great to see some taking an interest in local produce and having extensive knowledge of the produce. thorin - 29 Oct 2008 11:04
Fantastic place to drink and relax. You can while away an hour or a whole day sitting either by the river or next to the outdoor openfire, beer in hand and not a care in the world. Good food and friendly staff complete a awesome experience but don't take my word for it and visit. Amazing place to find, hard to leave and impossible to forget. dudezoom - 17 Aug 2008 21:21
If Carlsberg made pubs... ...they couldn't have come up with this combination. Nestling in one of the most beautiful valleys in South Hams, where the River Harbourne runs into Bow Creek, which feeds the Dart, here's where you get to experience what a country pub should be. The best booze (you can share my Guinness, but drink my favourite malt and I'll find out where you live), great local food and truly friendly service - plus a congenial firepit for those who enjoy combining country air with toasted tobacco. Come to think of it - I don't want you coming here. scottoftheantarctic - 17 Aug 2008 15:47
From The Sunday TimesMay 30, 2008 Britain's best 50 days out Heady days of beaches, barbecues, fetes and festivals are around the corner 6. RIVERSIDE PINT, Devon Ale foaming over tonsils, water foaming over rocks, the sun shining down and the hand pumps gushing: a waterside pub makes summer complete. The perfect spot is highly subjective – but we defy you not to fall in love with the 17th-century Waterman’s Arms, overlooking tinkling Bow Creek, near Tuckenhay. Hidden away at the bottom of a steep valley, the streamside tables are perfect for savouring a pint of the fine Palmer’s Copper Ale. The lunches, sourced from local suppliers and served under an outdoor awning, attract foodies from as far away as Exeter and Plymouth. Accommodation available, doubles from £80, B&B; 01803 732214, www.thewatermansarms.net Robltc - 16 Aug 2008 17:19
