Very comfortable pub just outside the Town Centre. Beer very good and my friend and I both agreed that we have never seen so many bar staff behind a bar so small! Although we visited early Saturday evening the place was packed with people of all ages which is always a good sign. Well worth seeking out and spending more time in. villagefamily - 17 Apr 2012 11:50
The house bitter is from Theakstons and the one of our group who had it also said insipid. The Golden Delicious was OK, but the Holdens Golden Glow was below par - very disappointing for a current GBG pub. 5 of the 6 ale handpumps were pale beers, plus Abbot. oftenscore6 - 4 Mar 2012 13:44
Old style square bar lay out with more of a pub feel to it than your average hotel bar. Five ales on - of which Kelham Pale Rider was the unusual suspect and the 'House' bitter an unknown one. I tried the house bitter which was a little insipid. (not sure who brews it) Would drop back in if in the vicinity. Snarling_Mallard - 27 Feb 2011 12:51
I'd not been in here for years. It's rather nice: A genuine pub as well as the hotel. Cosy and traditional inside, great beer, good staff. stymaster - 29 Jan 2011 17:08
Friendly and helpful bar staff and a good choice of reasonably priced beers made our visit a pleasant experience. A mixed clientele including some members of the Peterborough police force. Would certainly call again when in Walsall. Stamfordian - 3 Nov 2010 09:56
