| I'd agre with most of the previous comments. Doesn't look promising from the outside but is well worth visiting. 4 Salopian beers on on Friday night. Interesting selection of music from about £3.10. Fairly quiet until about 10 pm when it started to get busy. cheshirecat - 21 May 2012 09:16 |
| Near to Crewe Railway station and part of the Royal hotel, the Corner bar has four cask ales on at most times, and mostly Salopian ales, all were good at the time of my visit as they were on my last couple of visits, a little expensive though, this is in part due to it being part of a hotel. Large room with TV's and a pool table off the main room, a raised little snug area is off the main room too. A friendly pub, worth a visit and very convenient to the station. | We had nearly an hour to wait for our train at Crewe on the evening of Friday 19 August, so we took the advice of the previous reviewers and popped over. Agree that outside it definitely didn't look like it would serve well kept real ale (neon lights etc) but inside there were 4 hand-pumps from the Salopian brewery and we enjoyed a perfectly good pint of Salopian Lemon Dream and found a quiet area away from the music. The staff were friendly and polite, the clientelle were mainly in their 20s. Not a pub I would go out my way to visit but certainly one that is worthy of a visit for a decent pint if you have an hour to kill. DiscerningDave - 21 Aug 2011 11:32 |
| Strangely enough I was here the day before the below reviewer. Other beer was Old Speckled Hen although they had another couple of turned around pumps with Salopian clips. Doesn't look promising for real ale from the outside but worth a look in. GuideDogSaint - 7 Feb 2011 23:53 |
| Paid a fleeting visit here last night on the way from the British Lion back to the station. It's a handy location, just a couple of minutes walk away from the station. 2 real ales were on - 1 was Salopian Darwin's Origin. I don't remember the other. But the sambucas were good! blue_scrumpy - 23 Jan 2011 14:10 |
