Only worth going to if you are going to the fabulous rock and Roll club in the adjoining hall. In order to get real ale you have to buy it in the pub then take it next door.

Went here with a couple of mates for a friday night out. They had no ales so we left. The place seemed full of mutton dressed as lamb and smelled like the perfume counter in a pound shop. apparently there was a grab a granny disco next door. Maybe on another night I'd have a better time.

The Wednesday night music quiz is still a fun night to take part in with a chance to win dosh well into 3 figures .... very handy cash and a fun night to take part in as well. One of those well thought out quizzes that gives everyone a fair chance to win without being too "over the top difficult", would make a real midweek distraction instead of flicking the sky remote and arguing over what to watch .... starts around 8.30pm , why not try it out ??

I've been to The Winning Post on and of for about 10 years now and it seems to have been run into the ground due to cost cutting. I feel quite sorry for the staff who have to bare the brunt of us customer's frustration at the fact that there's 1 or 2 behind the bar even on busy days. On rugby days the car park's packed full of cars all paying a premium, it would be nice to see these thousands going to charity rather than the Landlord's pocket.
