| Bar staff friendly some days, some days rude as hell. Door staff seem ok most of the time, seems to be a very strict door policy but still the place seems to be full of wannabe gangsters, maybe they've all come over from Town House which has shut down? Agree with comment below, the toilets are a joke and have been for over a year. Maybe they should put the drinks prices up a bit to pay for new toilets as they are seriously a healthy along with the floor which seems to be sinking slowly, I'm quite scared to go in there anymore! | The place had gone down in recent years but the few times I'd been there this year I found the atmosphere pleasant and rather less dodgy characters than used to frequent the place and not as packed out as it used to get. The bar staff are average, not the most clued up and can never serve customers in the order that they get to the bar which causing some conflict and the door staff are usually quite polite - they do ID everyone which is good and the seating is much more comfortable except wherever you sit in the pub it seemed to have different decor which I found quite bizarre. The toilets really need sorting though, there have been 2 of 3 out of order every time I've been in there this year which makes for some long queues! w5lioness - 15 Oct 2008 17:58 |
| having worked there for the past year, i can happily say that edwards is a disgusting, apalingly run place, lacking of charm adn any character. all staff with an ounce of sense cleared off, leaving the useless ones behind. it may look nice and clean, but trust me, behind the scenes it is foul. when i was working there (07/08) it failed bar inspections 6 times!! on the plus side, the kithcen was well run thanks to the clued up kitchen staff, myself included. and trust me, theres a reason why the beer is only 1.25 a pint and fed to students and rude boys thrasher - 6 Oct 2008 10:09 |
| Get them in-get them out atmosphere; devoid of friendliness, dreadful beer(s) wouldn't like to see pipes! rickety furniture-the sort of pub you'd expect in Romford-not in a central prime Ealing location! Avoid! IsleIona - 5 May 2008 10:57 |
| Edwards has gone downhill rapidly - scummy (and I mean really scummy) toilets - sticky dirty bar - rude staff - full of kids. A real shame used to be the pub in ealing with the best atmosphere. mitsy - 15 Jan 2008 23:27 |
