I gave it 1 out of 10 because every pub must have a redeeming feature, I suppose they can't screw up with bottles. It was about minus 2 outside and the pub was full of flies, so I would assume they could only have originated from within. It was suggested the smoking ban would highlight the farts and BO in a boozer. In 18 months since the law change, I can honestly say this is the only time I have noticed it. As per other reviews, over priced, poor service, crap bar staff, terrible staff to punter ration, filthy, I could go on. Enter at your peril!

Agreed about very slow service. This place is right next door to my office. It's convenient but unbelievably slow at peak times - it would be quicker to walk to tesco metro at bank buy drink and walk back.

The place does clear out quite a bit later on, so no problems getting served then.

High prices, low quality and very, very slow service. The owners clearly think that 1:100 is a good ratio between staff and punters. Dreadful.

The pub has recently changed the menu and has really gone down hill. Jacket potatoes have been removed from the menu along with a good choice of sandwiches.

For any vegetarians be warned this pub like to add additional charges to your meal. On the menu they have a sausage sandwich (meat or veggie) for £4.99. Only if you order the veggie they charge an extra £1! After pointing out that the menu makes no mention of extra charges we was told to pay it or don't have it!

It took 45mins for 2 sandwiches to arrive. Staff upstairs were rude and couldn't care a less about customer service. We will not eat here ever again. My suggestion is go to the Rack - more money but great service.

This suffers from over popularity due to its location and the possibility of standing outside to drink in good weather. It employs some of the worst staff I have encountered in the city. Not always their fault as they seem to receive no training whatsoever. They should concentrate on the beer and forget about the food.,
