Bog standard pub. Did have London Pride on my last visit. Popular with travellers waiting for trains but also some of the unwanted sort as well. Does get full of football fans on matchdays. ng10 - 12 Aug 2011 09:56
A very basic hotel which advertises bed and breakfast but provides no breakfast, a fact I was not informed about until I asked what time breakfast started, too late then! There were 3 beds in my room, making it very cramped, no wonder there was little other furniture. The shared bathroom was clean but scuffy. A deposit was required for the key but when I tried to return the key and redeem my £10 deposit there was no one on duty. I had to wait almost three hours, until 10.30am for a member of staff. By which time I had gotten hungry and had to find somewhere to eat, I requested a refund for my meal but was refused. I did not use the bar as I was told that they would probably close about 9 or 10pm as it wasn't very busy. I would advise anyone to stay clear of this establishment. missgolly - 29 Jul 2011 12:53
With it's location right next to the Railway Station this place should be a goldmine but instead its a hole! No real ale crap service and don't think its been cleaned since the age of steam. nivramkram - 22 Jul 2011 19:05
A bit grim admittedly, but we stayed here on my stag do and the landlord was kind enough to open the bar for as at 8am. So that gets it a couple of bonus points Edd70 - 8 Oct 2010 12:18
Only one handpump with nothin on,so opted for a pint of £2.90 mediocre Guinness that I nearly spilled by sitting on the novelty collapsable furniture, ok sorry maybe just tired furniture... a lovely ceiling though to be admired but sadly this doesn't get its mark any higher than a quite generous 4/10 fat_beer_badger - 22 May 2010 22:45
