used to like this place. seems to have lost all character with a refurb.

Pleasant, friendly pub serving well-kept ales.

What you see is what you get here. Good boozer with good ale. Timothy Taylor Landlord and Hobgoblin. We all had Taylors which was in fine form.
The landlady was great (What a laugh she has..) her laugh made us laugh..
Graet boozer keep up the hard work.

An all right pub; a bit tatty and sticky with only two real ales on, which are pleasant enough. The city arms next door is better though.

This pub looks good from the outside but is crap inside. Extortionate prices for mediocre real ale. My advice is "go next door to city arms or the waterhouse"
