| In the area for a bit of rugby and thought a pint of Pride would be at it's best in a Fuller's house...it probably was but that ain't saying much so I have concluded that it is now a very poor beer. As to the food comments from aircrew.."what do you expect from a managed pub"? They exist to make enough profit to maintain the company share price...sadly the concept of customer satisfaction comes down the list as there is little competition in the true sense between pub estates. | Took 6 adults and 2 children for sunday lunch after reading the good reviews about this pub and its food. Have to say i was very disappointed. the staff were brilliant,attentive, polite and welcoming 10 out of 10 for them. The food however was a different story.... What is easier than a plain ol sunday lunch ..? we booked 5 days in advance, so they knew what to expect, half of the usual sunday lunch meats were not available, food arrived luke warm and on cold plates ! a no no in my opinion...small small portions..and frozen veg !!! frozen veg ???? in Uk...we have some of the best and cheapest fresh veg in Europe....this i dont understand... i am going back to try again, maybe the "chef" ? was having a bad day but i spent over £200 on that lunch and drinks...expected better. aircrew - 21 Dec 2011 17:34 |
| Went here on a Monday lunchtime a couple of weeks ago. Never been before but have heard a lot about the pub due to knowing a number of people in the Whitton area. Cant say that I had heard a lot of positive comments about the place so I am glad to say that on walking into the establishment I was pleasently surprised. Fullers have re-furbed the pub really nicely and our couple of pints of ESB went down very nicely sat in a comfy red armchair at the back of the pub. The decor of the pub is fairly typical of Fullers pubs in the area with the walls adorned with old photographs of the local area. In fact it reminded me somewhat of The Turks Head in St Margarets.......................................................................................................................but St Margarets this aint so inevitably their is "chavvy" element even on a Monday lunchtime. To be honest with you though this doesnt put me off as many people wouldve classed me as a "chav" when I was 20 years old due to the way I dressed.....I'm not though as you can tell by my obviouis grasp of the English language. The "chavvy" element I describe was that their was a group of about 6 18-20 year olds hanging around in the pub 'chattin bare shit' and none of them appeared to have a drink. This made me think that they were using the pub merely as a warm place to sit on a cold day that was an alternative to being outside somewhere bunning zoots lol The staff really needed to make sure that if these kids are in the pub then they should really be buying drinks. Then again maybe they just couldnt be bothered with the hassle. All in all though a decent place and I wouldnt hesitate to go back!! BeerGutt - 16 Mar 2011 09:33 |

| I drink here every second Saturday lunchtime after dropping my kid off at a music lesson. It has a reputation of having a rough clientele, but I have found the staff friendly and efficient, even on really busy rugby days. The London Pride is excellent. GaryB59 - 22 Jun 2010 16:02 |
